Organizing a two-week citywide cultural festival is a huge challenge, but the experts at Counterintuity made our lives so much easier by jumping right in with outstanding creative concepts and a gorgeous website design. Pasadena Arts Council's biennial Art & Ideas Festival presents a textbook example of how to unite and unify a local community around ideas and shared values. For its 2009 festival, which commemorated the 150th anniversary of Darwin’s "On the Origin of Species," Council executives and board members wanted to attract more attendees, while further unifying the marketing and publicity of both the festival and its two dozen constituent presenters.
The solution:
A bold new website that previews cool events at a glance and inspires clicking to calendar and reserve for them. Integration of social media capabilities. An expanded publicity effort. Consulting on strategy for now – and later.
Impact:Hundreds of site visits daily by locals. Nine local media features. “Wow” responses from partners.
